Clinic Policies

Confidentiality

Confidentiality regarding the health information of our patients is a very serious matter. Unless necessitated by law, the clinics do not publish any information concerning health of children without permission.

Insured Services (OHIP COVERED SERVICES)

Parents have the responsibility to provide the correct and updated health-card data, as long as contact information. In view of this, it is imperative that they carry health-cards during all visits. Failure to offer updated and accurate health-card data may lead to the rejection of their OHIP claims. Parents with rejected OHIP claims must pay administrative fees of 30 dollars and cater for the visiting costs.

In the event of newborns, the OHIP number from a hospital is temporary. Parents should register their child with OHIP to acquire a permanent and credible OHIP card.

If children have private insurance but lack OHIP coverage, the billing will be done for services and an official receipt issued. The issued receipt could be used for claiming reimbursement.

Walk In

Our Urgent Pediatric Care clinics do not take appointments and take patients in a first come first serve basis.

  • The facilities are open 7 days a week, including Saturday and Sunday. Late hours at our clinics help offer pediatric care, especially when family physicians are unavailable or closed. Parents do not require appointments to be attended to (for urgent situations) unless they intend to book appointments with their family pediatrician. Pediatric urgent care clinics offer care for minors beyond the hours that most family doctors and pediatricians provide.
  • Parents are required to be at the facilities 30 minutes before the time of closure.
  • Our clinics attend to urgent needs, but not emergency care. If you are in need of emergency services, immediately visit your closest hospital.
  • To save your time from waiting, we recommend contacting us in advance to know the clinic’s current waiting time and break time of our pediatricians.
  • Missed specialist appointments
    • o Appointments that are not cancelled or rescheduled one day before the appointment will be charged $40. This constitutes the policy of the entire clinic and it is applicable to all patients.
  • Parents are required to inform the administrative staff of any contact information changes.
  • Upon arrival, parents are required inform staff if their child have the symptoms of rashes with fever, breathing problems, and high fever.
  • Rude, confrontational, and aggressive behavior at pediatric urgent care clinics is not acceptable and those found culpable are dismissed.
  • Pediatric Urgent Care has no links to other pharmacy chains; parents are free to visit pharmacies of their choice.

Lab Results

Notably, test results are released 1 week after being conducted. They arrive directly to the doctor that requested them. In the event of any concerns, curiosity or symptoms on the side of patients when the results have not been released, patients are urged to visit the offices and talk to the doctors. Under circumstances does the clinic discuss or issue results on the phone.

Due to OHIP regulations and privacy concerns, we are unable to offer any medical advice or management over the phone, fax or via email. Communication with administrative staff is also against provincial privacy regulations and you will be instructed to communicate all medical concerns with your doctor at your appointment.
