Moreover, they advise and support parents on various issues that include emotional health, nutrition, prevention and safety, and development.
Since pediatricians have medical specialization in care for children, they have an abundant of experience handling children from birth through youth. Pediatricians spend 48 months within a pediatric residency following completion of medical training on how to handle children.
Parents typically bring their children when they are ill; however, we recommend visiting the pediatrician for routine check-ups, especially when the child is still a baby to ensure optimal health. Routine examinations present the best opportunities for the physicians to monitor the progress of childrenâÂÂs mental and physical development and growth. Well-care visits are vital as part of the preventive pediatric care.
Moreover, well-child visits are an ideal period for parents to present their concerns and questions regarding overall well-being, safety, nutrition, behavior, and development of a child.
